Health

The city of San Francisco is determined to provide a healthy environment for its citizens by making sure that the air we breathe is clean, the water we drink is pure, and the food we eat is affordable and nutritious. Our city agencies follow an agenda that includes the prevention of lead poisoning; the reduction of exposure to harmful chemicals; the elimination of chemical and biological "triggers" in homes that may cause asthma; providing open space and recreational facilities to reduce childhood obesity; and in general, to make sure that the places where we live, play, learn, and work are safe and healthy.
